چکیده
Background . Extramedullary infiltration (EI) is relatively common in children with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) (up to 20-25 %). However, its clinical and prognostic significance remains poorly understood. Objective : describe features define of EI AML. Materials methods The subjects retrospective observational study were 228 de novo median age was 6.6 years. All them treated according the protocol AML-MM-2006 from April 2007 June 2018. patients divided into three cohorts localization lesions: 1) central nervous system (CNS) involvement (CNS group), 2) other localizations apart CNS (myelosarcomas (MS) 3) combined lesions + MS group). Results diagnosed 84 (36.84 %) Among 47 (55.95 had involvement, 20 (23.81 MS, 15 (17.86 both MS. 5-year overall survival (OS) rate slightly higher than without - 80 ± 12 % vs 71 9 %, p = 0.26, however OS significantly lower 45 16 <0.001. In addition, high-risk who underwent allogenic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) (± involvement) similar main groups 81 11 42 26 respectively, 0.004. event-free also 38 51 8 0.011. Conclusion Patients worse EFS our study. Moreover HSCT conducted first remission did not improve rate. Neuroleukemia as only an unfavorable factor cohort AML more often associated inv(16).

متن کاملPresenting Clinical and Laboratory Data of Childhood Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Abstract Background Leukemia is the most prevalent childhood cancer and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) constitutes 75% of all cases. The most frequent presenting symptoms are fever, weight loss and pallor. Early detection of clinical symptoms positively affects timely diagnosis. The objectives of the present study were to assess frequency of presenting symptoms, laboratory data, immune ph...
متن کاملPrognostic significance of flow cytometric immunophenotyping in acute myeloid leukemia.
The prognostic significance of flow cytometric immunophenotyping (FCI) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has been controversial. In this study, we re-investigated the possible role of FCI in the prediction of AML relapse following standard chemotherapy. A total of 209 AML cases with follow-up information were analyzed. Among those, 78 cases were in remission (M:F=44/34; mean age of 48.9 years) an...
متن کاملPrognostic Significance of Progenitor Cell Markers in Acute Myeloid Leukemia
Background: Until now the prognostic significance of flow cytometric immunophenotyping (FCI) in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) has been controversial. The decision whether patients with AML should receive a more intensified therapy has been made according to defined risk categories based mainly on genetic criteria. Unfortunately no specific chromosomal abnormalities are found in about half of the...
متن کاملPrognostic significance of leukopenia in childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia
Chemotherapy-induced leukopenia has been shown to be associated with the outcomes of several types of cancer, but the association with childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) remains unknown. To elucidate the association of chemotherapy-induced leukopenia with the clinical outcome of childhood ALL, retrospective analysis was performed on 19 child patients with ALL treated according to the ...
